The Baobab tree is amazing, it’s a succulent.. yeah. Some of them are thousands of years old. One of them (which I didn’t see, but was in Madagascar) was so large they carved a small bar into it. The Baobab is also called “reniala” (“mother of the forest”) in Malagasy, the native language, which is very different from one side of the island to the other. 6 of the 8 known Baobobs are found in Madagascar. They fill up their trunks with water, giving them the nickname bottle tree. Basically they’re amazing trees.
